Professional Advancement
Texas Women Lawyers has hosted its Annual Meeting and CLE for more than 20 years. This program always offers presentations of interest for lawyers of all disciplines and stages in their careers. Check out the programming for the latest one here.
TWL annually honors a Pathfinder — an individual who has been a champion promoting the advancement of women in the law and who exemplifies professionalism, leadership, and commitment to the public interest. Past recipients of the Pathfinder Award have been heavily involved in their legal communities, giving back through programs such as for mentoring young women attorneys and increasing the number of women and minorities in the judiciary.
TWL aims to provide resources specially tailored to the professional advancement efforts of its members and women attorneys in the State of Texas. There is also a comprehensive library of resources offered by TWL affiliate, National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations, which has compiled links to workplace statistics, job boards, judicial programs, and more.
Public Outreach
Texas Women Lawyers has worked closely with the Tahirih Justice Center for Women for many years. Tahirih, which has three offices nationwide, including Houston, collaborates with pro bono attorneys to protect immigrant women and girls and to promote a world where women and girls enjoy equality and live in safety and dignity.
